Hybrid Brows

Hybrid brows are currently one of the most popular brow trends and a great alternative to powder brows or microblading (another very popular form of cosmetic brow tattooing). The process involves the machine application of small dots of pigments, which gradually build to form a full and defined brow. This is then combined with the application of hairlike strokes, or microblading. These 2 different techniques are used together to create a beautifully defined and natural looking brow. Hybrid brows usually appear more filled-in than typical microbladed brows. They are also slightly less dramatic than ombre or fully shaded powder brows. This style of cosmetic brow tattooing is ideal for everyone! It is especially great for those who desire to maintain their color and shape in the long run. Individual hair strokes (microblading) appear more natural, but tend to fade more quickly than machine applied pigment (powder brows). The combination “Hybrid” brow will give you the best of both worlds! No matter which style you choose, every semi-permanent makeup service includes a long and thorough consultation. Your permanent makeup artist will customize your brows to best suit  your desired look, color, skin type and facial structure.

The Process

The first appointment is called the Initial Session:

  • We will first apply a topical numbing cream around your eyebrow area, then you will sit and relax in our comfortable lounge for 45 minutes of numbing

  • Next, we will take "before" pictures, so we can document the changes in your eyebrows

  • Then, you will be given a very detailed consultation in order to ensure that you and the service provider are on the same page with the desired results

  • After the consultation, we will pigment match for your specific hair and skin color

  • A professional evaluation and measurement of your eyebrows will take place in order to ensure a natural and youthful appearance of the brows

  • Only when you're happy and have approved of everything, we will get started with the actual blading process

  • Once your brows have received as much enhancement as they can for one session, we will seal the pigment to achieve the best-healed results

  • We will take an "after" photo of your brows to show the comparison from the original photo

  • Lastly, upon making sure that you are over the moon for your new brow shape and color, we will then schedule you for your Perfecting Session! *Don't forget Hybrid Brows are a multi-step process (at least two sessions required)

The second appointment is called the Perfecting Session:

  • This session is always scheduled between 4-6 weeks after the Initial Session. This will give your skin enough time to process the pigment that has been deposited and to fully heal

  • Don't worry if you have any oops moments during your first weeks of healing. We will re-add any marks that may have not healed properly, or were accidentally removed during your healing process

  • We will also check your brow shape and color, adjusting and adding anything that may be needed

  • During this time we will do anything that is needed to "perfect" your brows

FAQ’S

Are Hybrid Brows for me?

  • Hybrid Brows are beneficial for both men and women who may fall into the following categories:

    • Naturally light-colored or sparse brows

    • Over tweezed and waxed brows

    • Alopecia

    • Brow scars

    • Cancer survivors

    • Thinned brows from thyroid disorders

    • Anyone who wants to wear less or no brow makeup

    • Big brows that lack shape and density

    • Brows that are already dense, but need to be defined

    • Clients with oily or acneic skin

Who should not get Hybrid Brows?

  • HIV patients

  • Anyone within 6 months of cancer treatments

  • Those with Hemophilia or similar bleeding conditions

  • New or expecting mothers that are unable to take an antibiotic should an infection occur (this is a precaution and not high risk)

  • Anyone who has had Botox within two weeks

  • Anyone who has had chemical peels or laser treatments within a month of the intended service

How long will it last?

  • Hybrid brows can last anywhere from 12-18 months.

Is the service painful?

  • Every person has varying levels of sensitivity, but the consensus is that cosmetic brow tattooing is not painful. A topical numbing cream is applied to the treated area 30-45 minutes prior to the service. This helps to make the service more comfortable. It is important to arrive at your scheduled numbing time to get the benefits of the numbing cream. Arriving late to your appointment takes away from the time that you would spend numbing, therefore, you may not be fully numb by the time the service begins.

How many sessions are needed to achieve the best look possible?

  • Hybrid brows are a two-step procedure and consist of an Initial Session and a Perfecting Session. In one service, you can only achieve 50-70% of the desired result at a time. The skin needs proper healing time in order to be able to add additional shading. A Volume Boost is a service for anyone who has already gone through the Initial and Perfecting Sessions and just wants more! They are usually scheduled 6-12 months after the Perfecting Session.
